This Dragon Age II collectible
coaster weighs approximately 1 pound and is plated in black nickel. The coaster
is 3 1/2" in diameter and 3/16" thick. This coaster features the emblem of The
House of Tides.
The House of
Tides- This image is thought to represent the qunari as a force of nature,
an irresistible tide that will crash again and again upon your shores without
relent… though nobody knows for certain. All that is known is that the qunari in
Kirkwall bear this image on their flesh, applied through battle paint, as if in
preparation for a war against the unbelieving infidels around them.
The Chantry- The sun symbol represents
the fundamental goal of the Chantry itself: if all the lands under the sun raise
their voices in the Chant, then and only then will the Maker's eye will turn
back to His children. Universally recognized across Thedas, the Chantry of
Andraste is the dominant religion for all human cultures.
City of Kirkwall- This stylized knot
work representation of a dragon evolved from a symbol of rebellion etched into
countless walls during the time when Kirkwall was a center for the Tevinter
slave trade. It was an image that catalyzed the slaves who overthrew the ruling
magisters, and while the symbol has changed, its meaning has not: Kirkwall is a
city unto itself, beholden to no one.
The Templars- The upraised sword represents
the martial values of the templars, who act as the militant arm of the Chantry
in safeguarding the faithful against magic and corruption alike. The lames
represent purification, just as the prophet Andraste was purified by flame upon
her martyrdom at the height of the first Exalted
March. |
